This episode had a tense and dark feeling, especially in the scenes with Saya and her friends. At some point, I couldn't tell if what was happening was real or just a dream, which made it even more intriguing.

I was right when I said this anime was getting darker and darker. The light-hearted moments from the previous episodes are completely absent here. The emotional stakes have now been raised significantly, and it looks like Saya is going to have a tough time dealing with them.

They actually tackled the big plot hole that has been worrying me for the longest time! It's good when an anime makes sure that no page remains unturned. This episode is also quite intense with the casualties. I hope they continue to explain the plot hole, especially with this drastic change.
