Episode Context

Sitting deep in the anime-original Gotei 13 Invading Army arc, Episode 338 follows directly from Episode 337's exploration of Mod Soul origins and uses that backstory to deepen the Kon-Nozomi relationship. It bridges the gap toward Episode 339, 'Protect Ichigo! The Bonds of Friends!,' where the focus shifts back to broader group dynamics and escalating conflict. As a filler episode late in Bleach's run (338 of 366), it exists entirely outside the manga's narrative and can be skipped without losing continuity.
