Episode Context

Positioned deep in the anime-original Gotei 13 Invading Army arc, this episode follows Byakuya's battle against his reigai counterpart and escalates the conflict by throwing two fan-favorite captains directly at Kageroza. It also advances the mystery around Ichigo's disappearance, threading together the combat and investigative subplots. The groundwork laid here feeds into the next episode's revelations about Nozomi's origins, making it a connective piece between major action beats and incoming lore drops.
