Episode Context

Sitting at episode 317 of 366, this comes after the conclusion of the landmark Aizen saga and marks the beginning of the anime-original Gotei 13 Invading Army arc. The preceding episodes wrapped up one of Bleach's most defining conflicts, and this filler arc fills the gap before the series moves toward its final canonical material. It establishes the central mystery and threat that will drive the next stretch of episodes, so it functions purely as setup for this self-contained storyline.
