Episode Context

Deep into the Soul Society rescue arc, episode 28 follows the group's separation inside Seireitei and pivots away from Ichigo's thread to explore how Uryū and Orihime are faring against increasingly dangerous opposition. The preceding episodes established the chaos of infiltrating enemy territory; this one raises the personal stakes for two characters who will prove critical in the battles ahead. It directly sets the stage for escalating confrontations and alliances that define the arc's middle stretch.
