Episode Context

Falling deep within a filler arc in the back half of Bleach's run, this episode follows the dramatic reappearance of Kenpachi Zaraki and escalates the internal conflict tearing through the Gotei 13. It serves as connective tissue, building tension and fracturing alliances before the arc pivots toward a mission to rescue Captain Commander Yamamoto. Skippable for canon-only viewers, but it maintains momentum for those following the filler storyline through.
