Toshiro is a literal captain and he is out here playing soccer with elementary schoolers and I can't stop laughing at him getting so worked up about being called a kid

Episode Context

Sitting at episode 132 of 366, this is a standalone filler that follows the emotionally heavy episode 131, 'Rangiku's Tears, the Sorrowful Parting of Brother and Sister,' serving as a deliberate cooldown before the main narrative resumes. It's part of a stretch of character-focused one-offs, with the next episode, 'Ikkaku: The Hot-Blooded Kendo Tale,' continuing the same side-story format. None of these episodes advance the central plot, so viewers tracking the main arcs can skip ahead without losing continuity.
