EPISODE REVIEWS

Rill is finally able to unleash his full magic potential! He's wayy too OP, but insane in a good way. Yuno's transformation is parallel to Astas'.. they both have wings lol

A masterpiece of an episode! I didn't expect such incredible sequences from the Rill/Yuno battle. Thinking about it, the Yuno/Asta match being saved for later feels much more fitting!

Episode Context

Episode 84 closes out the Royal Knights Selection Exam arc, following the explosive Asta vs. Langris confrontation in the previous episode and now resolving the tournament's final match. This episode serves as a critical pivot point, everything that preceded it was about qualification and competition, while everything that follows shifts toward the formation of the Royal Knights and the larger threat they were assembled to face. At roughly the halfway mark of Black Clover's 170-episode run, this is a turning point where the stakes evolve from personal ambition to kingdom-level conflict.
