Episode Context

Sitting at episode 76 of 170, this falls deep into the Royal Knights Selection Exam arc, which has been building through successive tournament rounds with escalating stakes. Previous episodes established the bracket battles and key rivalries among Magic Knights squads, and 'Mage X' disrupts that established order by introducing a mysterious new variable. This shakeup sets the stage for the exam's climactic rounds and directly feeds into the larger narrative of assembling an elite squad to take on the Eye of the Midnight Sun.
