Finral's chance to shine! The Black Bulls are pretty overpowered in retrospect. Vanessa can control FATE, FInral literal space. It feels so satisfying seeing everyone else slowly acknowledge their abilities. His brother Langris is a jerk but overpowered as well. How were his feats even possible?

Mimosa's brother Kirsch was presented as a joke throughout his round with Team C, but his character is surprisingly entertaining. His magical ability and leadership capabilities between Sol and Magma was shocking, given his informal attitude towards.. everyone.

No idea if the translation on the site I was watching this episode on was accurate, but I found the way Asta called Mimosa's brother "sparkly" funny. Like WDYM sparkly?? I could see it after a while though.

I was prepared to hate Kirsch because of the narcissism but he turned out to be a really good strategist and the way he handled Magna and Sol was impressive and then seeing the contrast with Langris being a total jerk to Finral just made me want to see them fight even more and the cherry blossom magic looked decent

The way Langris treated his own brother while showing off that crazy power made him such a punchable antagonist

It was weird seeing Kirsch talk about beauty non-stop, but his tactical planning with those flower petals showed why he is a vice-captain

My heart sank when Langris just erased that crystal and mocked his own brother like that, he is way too overpowered and mean

Langris using spatial magic was genuinely scary because of how violent and destructive it looked compared to his brother's portals

I actually really liked how Finral took charge and used his spatial magic to lead Leopold and Hamon instead of just being a taxi for once

Kirsch is so obnoxious with the constant beauty talk but he actually knew how to use Magna and Sol perfectly to win that fight

The animation felt a bit shaky in spots but the way Finral stood up for himself and led his team was worth it

EPISODE CONTEXT

Sitting at episode 75 of 170, this installment pushes deeper into the Royal Knights Selection Exam arc that kicked off in the preceding episodes, building on the tournament's opening rounds and the stakes established in 'Flower of Resolution.' The team-based format forces character pairings that accelerate personal growth for fighters like Finral and Magna, development that will pay dividends in the larger conflicts ahead. These exam battles are laying critical groundwork for the Royal Knights squad formation and the major arc that follows.
