Episode Context

Coming off the intense training arc at the Ultime-Volcano Mountain Trail, where Asta and the others pushed past their limits, Episode 73 marks the transition into the Royal Knights Selection Exam, a full-blown tournament arc that will test everything they've learned. This is the opening salvo, establishing team matchups and personal stakes before the combat episodes that follow. At episode 73 of 170, the series is firmly in its mid-game escalation, building toward larger conflicts that the Royal Knights initiative was specifically designed to address.
