EPISODE REVIEWS

The ending of this episode shifts back towards the main plot and the whole sequence/arc with Fanzel in a flashback format was peak! His story and mentor-like relationship with Asta + the gags were really entertaining.

Episode Context

Episode 56 wraps up the two-part Fanzell filler arc that began in Episode 55, spending its runtime deepening his backstory and personal connections before the series moves forward. It sits roughly a third of the way through Black Clover's 170-episode run, landing in a stretch between major canon arcs. Episode 57 pivots toward the Witches' Forest storyline, making this the last low-stakes detour before the narrative picks up significant momentum again.
