Things start falling apart here as the conflict reaches a breaking point. The truth behind Angela/Ash becomes clearer, and the scale of the plan finally shows. Ciel realizing how deep the manipulation goes is the standout moment.

Episode Context

Positioned at episode 22 of 24, this filler installment lands between 'His Butler, Engaging Servants' and the penultimate 'His Butler, Up in Flames,' interrupting the final stretch with a character-focused sidebar rather than advancing the climax directly. It uses the late-season tension as a backdrop to reexamine Ciel and Sebastian's bond before the story barrels toward its anime-original conclusion. While skippable for plot purposes, it provides thematic groundwork that colors the emotional stakes of the final two episodes.
