The Yanagi and Kaede moments were nice. They’re cute and seem to understand each other better than the main pair. After that ending, I’m really wondering what actually happened. Did he succeed?

Episode Context

Five episodes from the finale, 'Death' arrives immediately after 'Trap' and transforms its accumulated danger into direct confrontation, finally surfacing Dr. Mamon's true intentions and the threat posed by Brahman as the next phase of human evolution. This episode functions as a pivotal turning point in the back half of the season, escalating the central conflict from reactive survival to an active race against catastrophe. It feeds directly into 'Life,' the following episode, where the pursuit through abandoned city tunnels begins in earnest.
