Episode Context

Coming off episode 3's combat-heavy showcase of Guts' skill, 'Prepared for Death' deliberately narrows focus to the Guts-Casca dynamic, a relationship that becomes foundational for everything ahead. This is the emotional pivot point of the early season, bridging the initial recruitment arc into the deeper personal territory explored in episode 5's 'Campfire of Dreams,' where the Band of the Hawk's individual aspirations take center stage.
