Episode Context

Positioned early at episode 3 of 13, 'Master of the Sword' follows the Nosferatu Zodd encounter that cracked open the series' supernatural dimension, and deliberately pivots back to human conflict, the political and personal tensions that will define the Golden Age Arc's trajectory. This episode deepens the core trio's characterization and the Band of the Hawk's rising influence in Midland, directly setting the stage for 'Prepared for Death' and the escalating consequences of their growing prominence.
