Chaotic and satisfying! The Basroil finally goes down but the crew's survival is genuinely nail-biting, especially that cat rescue subplot going sideways lol. Spoor's unhinged energy on the bridge is a series highlight. Great payoff for the whole arc's buildup, definitely don't skip this one.
Lafiel ordered to withdraw from the battle she has been fighting is one of the most interesting episodes in the series because it's about Lafiel facing something she genuinely struggles with — not fear, not danger, but the command structure overriding her own judgment. she isn't used to losing or giving up and the episode gives her real space to sit with that frustration before her unit commander gently but firmly reminds her what chain of command means. then the enemy assault ships come through the gate and the Basroil is ordered right back in. the tonal whiplash is handled perfectly. the episode earns both the frustration and the relief.
While the concept of forced evacuation under heavy fire carries inherent tension, the visual presentation fails to land a dramatic punch.
