Episode Context

Coming off Episode 1's aggressive throat-grab introduction, this episode deliberately decelerates to lay strategic groundwork, specifically positioning Kaoru Hanayama as the next major threat on Baki's horizon. Hitoshi Kuriyagawa's maneuvering here is the connective tissue between early episodes, signaling that confrontations in this series are as much arranged as they are earned. The Hanayama encounter being seeded this early suggests the show is building toward a significant early-season clash that will define Baki's standing in the underground world.
