Baki Hanma

Synopsis
At only 18 years old, Baki Hanma has a dad who can kill a prehistoric-sized elephant with his bare hands. His goal? Beat that dad in a fight. That's basically the whole premise of this ONA, and it's exactly as unhinged as it sounds. This season picks up with Baki training by sparring against a giant praying mantis, not as a metaphor, an actual massive insect, and then deciding the best way to level up is to get himself thrown into an Arizona prison so he can fight Biscuit Oliva, the strongest man in America. The logic is pure Baki: why go to a gym when you can go to maximum security? The 12 episodes lean hard into that dark, hyper-masculine energy the franchise is known for. TMS Entertainment pushes the animation into this exaggerated, almost grotesque style where muscles have muscles and every punch looks like it could crack the earth. The fights aren't just physical either; there's a surprising amount of martial arts philosophy woven in between people getting their faces rearranged. If you liked Kengan Ashura's tournament brutality or the over-the-top machismo of Fist of the North Star, this is your lane. There's also a JoJo's Bizarre Adventure quality to how seriously it plays its most absurd moments. The soundtrack goes hard, the fights are visceral, and the father-son dynamic gives it just enough emotional weight to keep you watching between the carnage.

Baki finally got his wish and that scrap was straight fire. Seeing him go toe to toe with Oliva is the flex we needed. Even Oliva is shook by how fast Baki is leveling up. The power struggle is totally shifting the vibe and the hype for what is coming next is lowkey off the chart
Baki is finally back and being totally unpredictable as always. His thirst for a scrap is highkey extra but the ego battles are what make this show peak. He really flexed by trying to escape just to prove a point. Now Oliva is lowkey overthinking Baki's words and it is living ren
This ep is highkey wholesome for a filler. Seeing the squad choose hope and the greater good over toxic rivalries is a whole vibe. Oliva going compact was lowkey hilarious and caught me off guard. Guevarra did his thing and I am manifesting his return for a future scrap. Straight
This ep feels like filler but it is lowkey essential for the lore. It is a bit of a slow burn but the mix of inspo and action is fire. Baki’s dad getting jealous and moving is a whole mood. We got a taste of Oliva vs Guevarra but I need the full scrap ASAP. It is peak setup!
Baki learning from shadows is a whole vibe. This ep might feel like filler but the technical lore is actually cracked. It is highkey sweet seeing him flex his pride for his girl regardless of what people think. He’s looking past the physical and it is lowkey wholesome. No cap!
The story and character growth are lowkey vibing together perfectly. No major beef yet but the personalities are highkey hilarious and have me saying "what even" constantly. Seeing Guevarra go full beast mode was straight fire but RIP to Baki for jumping into that mess unprovoked
Baki is lowkey locked in this ep. The way the fight pacing spikes into those rapid combos is straight fire. We finally see Baki’s true drive while the prison warden’s power trip adds a whole new level of danger. Every move is a flex and the plot twists have me highkey hooked. No
The lore is expanding and the new characters are carrying. Guevarra is a total menace and everyone being terrified of him is a whole mood. The nod to the Cuban revolutionary is wild too. Even with the unique animation style
Baki landing in the same cell as Guevarra is a total plot twist. The plan to get locked up was lowkey hilarious but the mind games are getting dark and personal. The animation still feels a bit mid compared to the canon style but the story development and Baki's thirst for victor
Baki materializing enemies to scrap is highkey insane. Watching him download moves and perfect his timing in real time is a total masterclass in strategy. He is lowkey a genius for how he levels up his training game. The psychological pressure is pure fire and that bond is a mood
This ep is a total adrenaline reset and I’m fully locked in. We finally get the intensity and character depth needed to show just how far Baki will go to prep for the Ogre. Even if the setup felt a bit slow and the pacing dragged during the dialogue,
