This anime offers an absurd premise and comedic timing, yet its bland animation and stiff voice acting significantly detract from the overall viewing experience.

📖 SYNOPSIS

For 450 years, the vampire Ranmaru Mori has been patiently biding his time working at a family bathhouse for one reason: he wants to drink the virgin blood of the kid who saved his life, Rihito Tatsuno, the moment he turns 18. Creepy? Maybe a little. Funny? Absolutely. Because the second Rihito starts high school and gets a crush on a girl, Ranmaru goes into full panic mode — not out of romantic jealousy (well, maybe a little), but because if Rihito loses his purity, the blood loses its value. What follows is a 12-episode TV series of increasingly unhinged schemes as this centuries-old vampire tries to cockblock a teenager, all set against the steam and tile of a traditional Japanese bathhouse. The comedy hits because the power dynamic is so absurd — an ancient supernatural being reduced to petty scheming over a high schooler's love life. Studio Gaina leans into the contrast between the old-world bathhouse setting and modern teenage drama, and the soundtrack mixes traditional Japanese instruments with contemporary tracks in a way that actually works. If you liked the supernatural-meets-BL tension of Vassalord or the comedy-driven relationships in Hitorijime My Hero, this scratches a similar itch. Fans of Junjou Romantica's messy dynamics will also find something to latch onto here, though the tone stays lighter and more ridiculous. It's a comedic premise that commits to the bit.

✨ MUST WATCH IF...

You enjoy absurd dark comedy with Gintama-level irreverent humor and over-the-top delusions
Ranmaru's obsessive vampire antics and comedic misunderstandings with Rihito sound entertaining to you
You're into BL-adjacent comedy that satirizes vampire tropes rather than playing them straight
Gaina's polished visuals and Ranmaru's flamboyant character design are enough to hook you

❌ SKIP IF...

A 450-year-old vampire fixated on a teenager's purity feels uncomfortable — that's the whole premise
Recurring sexual jokes — especially erection gags — get old fast and aren't your style of humor
You want tight episodic pacing — some episodes here feel like halved stories with disjointed flow
