The pacing and episode order are completely wild. You go from high stakes action straight into a random bathhouse episode, and then right back to absolute chaos the episodes after. Even with the whiplash, I’ve got to give it credit: this is the only anime that's given me a literal adrenaline rush. I actually jumped out of my seat during the Grey Ghost and Alterprise scenes.
Aww...I can see why both Akagi and Kaga are the way they are after this episode, Ship of Theseus are such a fitting description to their dillema. As usual, animation feels off when it's a relaxed episode but the story plot and fleshed-out character fortunately does the heavy lifting.
I love how this episode provided some more context about Akagi and Kaga. The brief scenes of their story made me even more curious about their past. The last few scenes of Belfast and Enterprise were also some of my favorite moments in this episode because of what Belfast did lol.
