Azur Lane the Animation

Wow, good anime. I honestly had a blast with this show. The story has never really been Azur Lane’s strong suit anyway, but just getting to see all our favorite shipgirls animated and interacting with each other made it totally worth it.

This episode was a massive step up from the last one, and the plot is finally starting to make sense. I’m so hyped for the finale next episode.

The pacing and episode order are completely wild. You go from high stakes action straight into a random bathhouse episode, and then right back to absolute chaos the episodes after. Even with the whiplash, I’ve got to give it credit: this is the only anime that's given me a literal adrenaline rush. I actually jumped out of my seat during the Grey Ghost and Alterprise scenes.

Loved this episode. It’s great just seeing all the girls relax and go about their daily lives.

I'm loving the anime so far, though the story gets a bit hard to follow sometimes.

They spent the first half of the episode hyping up this massive battle, but it ended so fast that you couldn't even tell who actually had the upper hand. It felt way too rushed, which completely killed any chance of getting invested in the fight.

The scene with Akagi, Kaga, and the little ones was so wholesome. Seeing Kaga get all flustered and blush was absolutely adorable.

The animation quality may have dipped a bit in this episode but the storytelling was so good that I honestly don't mind. Hopefully next episode we get to see Akashi back safe at port, and the team finally diving into the mystery of that Black Mental Cube.

Honestly, it feels like the animators lost focus during the fight scenes this episode. The action looked a bit wonky, but everything else was honestly great, so I can't complain too much.

Reminds me of a UC Gundam protagonist that is the type powered purely by trauma and existential dread. Surely will tell whether bonding with the other ships helps her heal, or if she'll spiral into a complete breakdown. Lol haha

For mobile game adaptations, this one completely surprised me with its fluid animation and top-tier production quality. It’s so good that it’s actually making me want to try the game.

Great first impressions. I love the detail that the girls' gear corresponds to actual physical warships they have to dock and store. The political setup has me hooked too. I'm incredibly curious about the motives behind Iron Blood and the Sakura Empire's sudden defection.

Whew, that was a great watch. The ending itself is a very generic and open-ended one, but considering Azur Lane started as a generic mobile game, it's an achievement by itself that they got an animated series. Amagi soft voice gonna haunt me for a few days at least.

A well-built penultimate episode, the stage are set properly with enough backstory and builded up tension to support it. The fact that Akagi and Kaga used to be so much more confrontational with each other were a nice touch to add the weight to relationship.

Aww...I can see why both Akagi and Kaga are the way they are after this episode, Ship of Theseus are such a fitting description to their dillema. As usual, animation feels off when it's a relaxed episode but the story plot and fleshed-out character fortunately does the heavy lifting.

Another cool down episode, building new chemistries now that Ayanami has officially changed sides, filled with both comedic and heartwarming scene. It's entirely skippable, but you'll miss the nuances of the upcoming episodes.

Phew, the sheer emotional baggage this episode has to offer was amazing. The eerie appearance of sudden strength that Enterprise shown really drives the story deeper and more intriguing. So far, this is the best episode. Every grading aspect had improved dramatically, animation and soundtrack being the most noticeable one.

UNION LOCAL AURA-FARMER STRIKES AGAIN! Jeez, now I see where the money went. A tense and emotional episode for both faction, each of them carrying their own beliefs, going as far to turn to forbidden powers. There's no good and bad side here, just girls fighting for their own wishes.

...Good lord, what is this ridiculous amount of fanservice?! Jokes aside, I see it's more of a cool down episode as we got to see how both sides of the war spend their time in relaxed manner and Enterprise gradual change. It's a shame that animation quality drops dramatically when there's no battle scene though, it's almost like they used all the budget for action.

A tense episode filled with action and battle scene from start to end. Javelin and Laffey third encounter with Ayanami was a great touch story-wise, making Ayanami inner conflict as the main attraction in this episode. Pace is adequate, animation has a few sudden drop but also stays high quality.
