Another great episode where we get introduced to a million characters but I love them all. Especially Sasha and Connie 🫶🏻

Vemos cómo ha pasado un poco el tiempo, el crecimiento de los personajes y las repercusiones de la caída de la muralla.

The episode trades spectacle for foundation-building, allowing character dynamics and ambitions to take shape naturally.

Focuses heavily on survival training and individual motivations, giving the cast stronger identity. The tension quietly builds beneath the slower pacing.

Training begins, but it’s far from hopeful. You see personalities clash and struggles feel real. Eren’s stubbornness stands out, while others reveal their motives. It’s a grounded episode that builds the foundation of the characters.

Resolute to join the army, all were introduced on the first day of the recruitment. The comic relief was still prominent to shake off the serious undertone of the series. I liked how each character possesses different traits. They were drawn with their separate individualism.

The characters introduced during cadet training are so charismatic! Here's to hoping they get more scenes and interactions; they seem important in the story already. We also get the iconic potato scene here

I think this arc contains their suffering, their sacrifices, and the determination. The struggles they've been enduring can now finally be paid off by doing trainings.

The training arcs are usually empowering but here there's tension underneath every moment. Still the survival feels uncertain here and that edge actually keeps it grounded to the point where I'm really looking foward to the actual encounter between the scouts and the titans.

Episode 3 highlights Eren’s stubborn determination. Even when he struggles in training, he refuses to give up, which is both frustrating and admirable. Mikasa looks so pretty with her gloss haha, and the girl who loves bread adds some much needed humor.

Gotta love a episode introducing the characters to my favourite anime. The episode is a little dim on the action but still grabs your attention, training arcs are not that intense but necessary.

Sasha actually eating a potato during the interrogation and then offering the commandant a tiny piece is the funniest thing I have seen in this show so far

It was cool seeing the different reasons people joined the military, especially Jean just wanting the easy life in the interior while Eren is out here losing his mind over titans.

I really liked the moment when Reiner and Bertholdt were talking to Eren on the cliff, because it shows they all have these horrible backstories from the same tragedy. Reiner giving him that pep talk was exactly what he needed to keep going after failing so many times. Eren finally succeeding without help from Mikasa made him look so proud

Sasha eating that potato right in the commanders face was actually hilarious and her offering him a tiny piece made it even better even if she got in massive trouble for it

Watching the cadets get their spirits broken by Shadis was intense, but seeing the Shiganshina trio stand their ground without flinching made them look so much tougher than everyone else

Christa bringing Sasha bread in the middle of the night was so sweet and the way Sasha attacked that food like a wild animal shows how brutal this training camp actually is

Mikasa is basically a god at using the gear already and her and Eren having such different experiences with the training shows how much pressure he is putting on himself

Watching Eren fail over and over while the other cadets talked about sending him to the fields was tough but that reveal about the broken belt changed everything for me because it meant he was actually talented enough to stay balanced on garbage equipment for a few seconds and that is just terrifying and makes me wonder how good he actually is

EPISODE CONTEXT

After the devastating fall of Wall Maria and the trauma of Shiganshina in episodes one and two, episode three marks the start of the training arc — a necessary pivot from catastrophe to preparation. This is where the core cast beyond Eren, Mikasa, and Armin begins to take shape, introducing cadets whose roles will become critical as the season escalates. It lays essential groundwork for the military dynamics and personal stakes that drive the remainder of the first season's action.
