This episode was all about political issues, strategies, and overthrowing the government.

At this point, those with justice to the core would want to fight for the truth no matter where they stood. It just the matter of knowing who is corrupted.

The episode actually makes me care?? Marlo's whole deal is that he joined the MPs because he genuinely believed in "justice" and now he's realizing the organization he works for is completely corrupt. Watching him question everything hits different.

Even with the Scouts in danger, they still think clearly and stay sharp. I really love how calm Erwin remains through it all! Even under the government’s control, they fight back with pure strategy. I love how they keep coming up with such genius plans despite the pressure.

The diplomacy is really rooted, this season really shows how much influence is against the Scouts, and the power that keeps them from doing much, But Erwin's idea to replace the government is what just sets this anime apart in terms of detail and realism. Know your enemy!

Episode 4 builds tension as the Scouts struggle to survive on the run, trusting a shaky alliance when every choice could mean life or death. It’s tense and character‑driven.

The rebellion is in full swing and the strategy is big brain. Seeing the Scouts fight for their honor was amazing. The tension between the different military branches is peak.

Truth spreads faster than Titans. Jean tests loyalty, Hange flips the narrative, and Flegel finds his spine in a ruined alley. The uprising shifts from shadows to streets. Erwin walks toward judgment calmly, because the real gamble hasn’t been played yet.

Things are finally starting to change! I love how much Marlo trusts the Scouts and what they stand for, and it’s great to see them fully integrated into the team. I’m also really proud of Flegel for stepping up in this episode.

Marlo's change of heart is intense, the Scouts stay sharp under pressure, watch for the strategic fights and alliances, Erwin's calmness is everything, the rebellion is on and it's big

I can feel the bad blood between the Scouts and the Military Police due to political differences and manipulation. I also loved how this episode highlighted one of the side characters’ redemption arcs in a satisfying way. The plot thickens in the next episode!

EPISODE CONTEXT

Sitting at the one-third mark of Season 3's first cour, "Trust" follows the backstory revelations of "Old Story" and translates them into immediate, high-stakes consequences for the Survey Corps' position within the walls' power structure. This is the episode where the political chess game crystallizes — allegiances are tested and the cost of knowledge becomes painfully real. It directly sets the stage for "Reply," where the government's response to the Scouts' defiance begins escalating dramatically.
