A gripping and intense episode that raises the stakes with strong pacing, emotional weight, and stunning action. The tension never lets up, and the storytelling keeps you fully engaged from start to finish. The BGM is on tier, elevating every moment.

Ymir's backstory actually lands and doesn't feel like filler. The Connie village confirmation is dark as hell. Only complaint is the pacing drags in the middle but the ending makes up for it. Two episodes left and things are finally moving.

Ymir’s past. Graphics of the "path" and the desert are surreal. Suspense as she decides to kidnap Christa during the chaos.

Kids are being shaped into weapons, on every side. That is how crazy things are done here.
Ymir takes her time, and it just adds to the cliffhanger, and leaves us at the edge the.

Another amazing display of Ymir's inner workings, showing her backstory further back in time. Definitely a lot calmer and predictable kind of episode, but still well done in terms of characterization.

This is probably the best dark fantasy out there currently and this is totally a perfect 10/10 anime... the best part about it is how it respects the phrase 'tragic backstory' meaning i like how it is satisfyingly 50% emotional history and 50% massive lore drops it has.

Ymir's backstory is so intense, it's crazy how kids are being used as weapons. The scene with Ymir and Christa is wild. Definitely skip nothing and keep watching.

This episode slowed things down after the chaos of the previous battles, but in a way that felt necessary. The focus on Ymir’s backstory was fascinating — seeing her memories of life as a nameless child worshipped by a cult, then punished and transformed into a Titan.

EPISODE CONTEXT

Positioned as the penultimate setup episode with only two installments left, 'Children' follows the seismic revelations and violent confrontations of episodes 6 through 9 by grounding the chaos in deeply personal backstory, particularly Ymir's. It serves as a critical narrative bridge, recontextualizing character motivations and shifting allegiances just before the season barrels into its climactic final stretch.
