EPISODE REVIEWS

Political pressure meets naval threat and the episode handles both without losing pace. Gunzou stays composed throughout and the ending leaves things nicely unsettled.

This episode marks the point where the anime diverges from the original source which is the manga. From here until the finale, the story follows an anime-original direction. Several new characters are introduced, and the episode also provides a brief explanation from a member of the Fleet of Fog about why they have taken on human-like forms. As expected, there's also the all too familiar trope of an idiot official making life difficult for the MC's group instead of acknowledging everything they've accomplished. Fortunately, the episode ends by setting up another major confrontation, promising an even more exciting battle than the one in the previous episode.

i really don't like military, ships, or sci-fi stuff like this, but somehow this anime made the complicated technicalities of the plot much easier to understand ! making it easier to follow. i literally don't know why i can't take Iona and Gunzou seriously lmao it feels like im watching a vr movie made in Garry's Mod xD
