Now we’re getting somewhere. The emotional stakes start rising, and the character focus feels more intentional.

I find this episode wholesome and realistic. No one can better understand someone else's grief than someone who has experienced it as well.

The vibes are a lot better this episode. We get further insight into Airu's past and present events - of which are very positive. Kizuki is fairing better overall but I'm curious to see how that plays out moving forward. Can a mistake like that be forgiven?

It’s a beautiful but sad reminder that once the truth is out, you can never really go back to the way things were before, no matter how much you want to.

Frankly speaking, emotional weight of Syugo’s backstory, Airu’s character growth, the time-jump narrative, and visual atmosphere are excellent in this episode. However, sudden plotd devices, pacing Issues, and the "Kizuki vs. Everyone" chemistry are to be refined.

I don't know about you all but the pacing of the events is perfect for me. Huge payoffs every time! They do slow burn justice here. And Syugo is so relatable with his reactions imo. Everyone's different when it comes to emotion processing. Great ep!

This episode is an emotional rollercoaster. Starting with a literal and surprising bang, followed by lots of ups and downs. The time skips help immerse you more in the characters' POVs, and their struggles give so much relatability in real life.

I feel like they could have done more with the highlight of the episode. It felt lacking in some ways, maybe with the visuals or the dialogue. It's a shame that it didn't really hit me as emotionally as I would have expected.

Ugh, they *finally* got the rooftop scene's emotional gut punch from the manga *somewhat* right, even if they skipped half the internal monologue... anime-onlys still won't get the real dread that's coming, but sure, enjoy this moment 🙄

EPISODE CONTEXT

Coming off the unresolved tensions and emotional exposure of Episode 7, this episode marks the season's clear turning point—where internal hesitation converts into decisive forward motion for key characters. At the two-thirds mark of a 12-episode season, it reframes the group dynamic in ways that directly pave the way for open rivalries and formal declarations in Episode 9.
