All Saints Street Special: The Secret of the Old Castle

The residents of Apartment 1031 include a gentle demon named Neil, a laid-back vampire, an angel, a werewolf, and a mummy. They bicker over chores and rent like any roommates, except most of them could probably eat you. In this three-episode special from studio FENZ, a mysterious old castle sends them an invitation, and the usual household squabbles turn into something closer to life or death. That's the setup: the same cozy found-family comedy, dropped into a Halloween-flavored survival scenario. The charm of All Saints Street has always been the mundane stuff, changing outfits, cooking, seasonal moods, and it's the contrast between that softness and the castle's creepy mystery that makes this work. Nobody here is a hero. They're just neighbors who have to keep getting along when things go wrong. If you liked All Saints Street's urban fantasy slice of life, or Fei Ren Zai's relaxed monster comedy, this is the same energy in a shorter, spookier package. Fans of The Vampire Dies in No Time will recognize the humor of terrifying creatures being kind of domestic and useless. Three episodes, low commitment, a good October watch.
