Interesting concept. This focuses on Akane’s journey to replace her dad. The pace was constant, so we didn’t feel rushed chasing info. This episode introduced a few key characters for future episodes. Overall, the funny scenes were delivered nicely with great reactions during performances.

This anime is slowly turning into one of my favorites, with such expressive animations combined with an art style I have a soft spot for. The show doesn't take itself too seriously, yet manages to nail the MC's strong character and ambition.

I really like Akane's new hair; not only because of how cute it is, but because the design really shifts to a different tone whenever she ties her hair up for Rakugo performances. Much like a visual indicator she puts on a different "hat" when performing.

The new characters introduced in this episode were both charming and fun in their own way! They feel like central characters who will guide or motivate Akane to improve in her newfound Rakugo career!

The way they showed the Rakugo story visually on screen was pretty cool. It really helped you see what Akane was imagining.

Guriko setting everything up for Akane's big moment was both hilarious and pivotal. Gotta love that dude.

I get why some people are iffy about showing the visuals during the Rakugo but honestly, for me, it makes it easier to follow.

Man, Kaisei is a whole different beast. His performance was so smooth and captivating. It's like this show is setting up a real battle shonen, but with words instead of punches. Akane's gonna have her work cut out for her if she wants to prove her dad's Rakugo was legit. I'm so hyped for their rivalry.

I was genuinely feeling Akane's stage fright, but then she just went for it and killed it with Manju Kowai. So good.

The anime's visual aids during Akane's performance were a bit much for me I prefer the classic interpretation.

I really felt Akane's nerves at the start it was so real but then she just absolutely nailed it on stage.

I loved how they showed Akane's stage fright it really made you feel her nerves and then the performance was so good. Some people complain about the visual aids during rakugo but I think it makes it unique and really fits the anime format. I'm totally hooked.

The whole thing with Akane's father not actually being dead hit me surprisingly hard. It’s a sad reality for a lot of artists out there having to choose stability over passion and it really grounds the story in a way I appreciate. You just feel Akane's drive to prove her dad's art wasn't a waste.

EPISODE CONTEXT

Episode 1 established Akane's deep connection to rakugo through her father and the painful setback that disrupted his career. This episode marks a pivotal shift — moving from that foundational wound to Akane actively pursuing the art herself, transforming personal grief into forward momentum. It effectively resets the series' center of gravity around Akane's own ambitions, laying the groundwork for the mastery and rivalries that will define the story ahead.
