I like how we explored Esdeath's origins here. The pacing felt isolated and tense, as the writing focused on the two enemies that are forced to coexist. Seeing Tatsumi realizing that it is impossible to convert Esdeath felt like hoping for something impossible.

The diversity of the Imperial Arms and their powers is interesting. Esdeath and Tatsumi's compatibility is something. It both supplies the plot and also provides comic relief to this episode. I liked the pace and flow of how the narrative shifts between past and present.

If every cruelty she had done had a reason, you can disagree with Esdeath's actions in the past but at least understand why she did what she had to but no, Esdeath simply lacks fundamentally as a human being, even her late-father notices it so early in the age. A natural Sadist.
