I went into this expecting the usual short but the banter between Mio and Shuuji really had some bite to it, and the way she called him out on his attitude before things escalated was great and it did not take long for them to end up at the hotel which caught me off guard with how fast it moved but the chemistry worked

the amount of stuff that happens in just six minutes is wild because they barely spoke before they were already at the hotel and the tension was through the roof

you already know what you are getting into with a comicfesta show but seeing them get down to business so quickly after that argument was pretty intense

the fact that these characters are in their thirties makes the dry spell they both have feel way more relatable to me than a bunch of high schoolers

going from a group date to a hotel room in under five minutes is such a fast move and it really sets the vibe for how this show handles the characters

You have to seek out the uncensored version or there is basically no point in watching this since the hotel scene is the entire focus after the short mixer introduction ends

The way Shuji changed his tune once they got to the hotel room was interesting and it makes you wonder if these two will actually catch feelings after such a crazy first meeting

Seeing Mio stand up for herself when Shuji was being a jerk at the mixer was the highlight for me, especially since it led to them immediately testing their chemistry in a hotel room
sterngrand_sword_488's avatar
sterngrand_sword_488
I wish the episodes were longer because three minutes is barely enough time to see Mio and Shuji actually talk before they are already in bed but the art style for the adult scenes is nice
alvavalva's avatar

Mio being single for five years makes her feel like a real adult protagonist and seeing her finally find a spark with that arrogant Shuji guy at the hotel was a strong way to start things
marluxia_454's avatar
marluxia_454
My interest was piqued because people kept saying this was basically Wotakoi but with the adult parts actually shown and I can see why now. Watching Mio navigate that awkward mixer only to snap at Shuji for his arrogance was great and then the hotel scene went from zero to a hundred so fast. The premium version is definitely the way to watch this

You can tell right away this is a ComicFesta production because they get straight to the business at the hotel and the character designs for the office setting look surprisingly good for such a short show

I went into this expecting the premium version and the hotel scene did not disappoint. Mio and Shuji having that much chemistry after years of being single felt strangely relatable even with the short runtime

The mixer scene moved way too fast, but that is expected when the whole episode is only three minutes long. At least Mio calling Shuji out on his attitude at the table was pretty funny
igos_du_ikana's avatar
igos_du_ikana
Shuji being a consultant who acts like he is above everything only to end up in a hotel room with Mio ten minutes after meeting her is hilarious and the animation for the spice was solid
sternritter_storm_480's avatar

The hotel scene felt way more grounded because these characters have baggage and it makes the chemistry better

Mio being thirty and totally done with dating felt so real to me and that hotel room sequence did not hold back at all

Six minutes is not enough time but they still managed to fit a whole one night stand into the first episode. Shuuji seems like a jerk but at least he is an adult with baggage

it is wild how much better the premium version is compared to what they usually put on tv, and the chemistry between these two during the uncensored scenes actually felt real

I found the premium version and it is definitely way more explicit than the tv edit. It really captures that feeling of being thirty and tired of the dating scene

EPISODE CONTEXT

As the series opener of an eight-episode run, this episode carries the full weight of establishment — there is no prior context to draw from, making it the essential entry point for everything that follows. It plants the emotional and relational seeds that will drive Mio and Shuuji's evolving dynamic across the remaining seven episodes. Skip this one and the chemistry building at the core of the season loses its grounding.
