Oshimeter
Synopsis
Home to countless street acts and performances, Veludo Way attracts those interested in watching professional actors. After receiving a mysterious letter, Izumi Tachibana arrives at the venue where her father directed a once-popular theater group, Mankai Company, but learns that the building is about to be repurposed due to excessive debt. At the last minute, she convinces the debt collector to give the ensemble one more chance. He is willing to accept but on three conditions: their debut show must be successfully produced by the following month, the four all-male sub-troupes must be reinstated, and the debt must be paid off within a year. To top it off, Izumi herself must become the director. With no time to lose, Izumi quickly gathers five people for the Spring Troupe: Sakuya Sakuma, an enthusiastic high school student; Masumi Usui, a boy infatuated with Izumi; Tsuzuru Minagi, an aspiring playwright; Itaru Chigasaki, a mature office worker; and Citron, a friendly foreigner. Though they have little or no experience in acting, it's up to Izumi to train and prepare them for a performance that will restore Mankai Company to its former glory. [Written by MAL Rewrite]

jaylings226★★★☆☆VerifiedEP 11This is an incredibly poignant, character-driven episode that takes a heavy but deeply necessary look at the psychological weight of performing. Moving past the initial excitement of forming the troupe, it dives headfirst into the specific mental blocks and vulnerabilities that hold a talented actor back when the pressure starts mounting.
jaylings226★★★★☆VerifiedEP 10This episode hits like a ton of bricks in the absolute best way possible. After all the high-energy banter, competitive posturing, and chaotic summer camp drills, seeing the Summer Troupe finally drop their defenses and address their deep-seated insecurities is incredibly satisfying. It's exactly the kind of emotional turning point an ensemble cast needs to transition from just "roommates" to actual partners on stage.
jaylings226★★★☆☆VerifiedEP 9A classic, essential trope done absolutely right. Taking the group completely out of their usual environment and forcing them into a shared training camp setting is exactly what this troupe needed to shake things up. It hits that great sweet spot where the comedy of shared living situations seamlessly gives way to some really necessary character growth.
