Episode Context

As episode one of thirteen, this is pure foundation, introducing Mari's dissatisfaction and Shirase's fierce determination as the twin engines that will power the entire series. No prior context is needed; the premiere is designed as an entry point that establishes motivations, relationships, and the emotional stakes before the journey to Antarctica takes shape. Expect subsequent episodes to build on this meeting, expanding the cast and escalating commitment toward what seems like an impossible goal.
