Episode Context

Sitting at the season's rough midpoint, Episode 5 builds directly on the momentum of Episode 4, where Rei began forging deeper bonds with his demi-human students, and narrows that focus onto his dynamic with Tobari Haneda. This serves as a pivotal bridge episode, deepening Rei's characterization and hinting at personal history that will carry forward. Episode 6 is positioned to continue unpacking the backstories of both teacher and students, making this a critical setup chapter for the season's second half.
