It started off strong for a second cour and ended strong too. The introduction of new characters and how much they differ from Shin's squadron was also showcased. But what made me love this episode was Lena's character growth and new purpose. Another was that when the squadron of Shin was being toured around the new setting, it made me somehow sad because they looked somehow amazed and even curious about things that they have never seen before. It showed how much they had missed out on life.

Shin and the squad wake up in a peaceful place, but it feels strangely empty for them. Watching them struggle outside the battlefield hits hard emotionally. Slow pacing, but it really sets the tone for their inner conflict.

The return feels heavier right away. You can tell the tone shifted—less about survival, more about purpose. The directing is super clean and the atmosphere hits hard without over-explaining anything.

Lore heavy episode. Too many dialogs and no action in this episodes. If you didn't watch Part 1 or previous episode maybe it will confuse you. Safe to skip unless you are following this series from Part 1

A calm yet emotionally loaded transition that contrasts Lena’s quiet struggle with Shin’s unexpected rescue. The introduction of the Federacy feels like a breath of fresh air, but the lingering discomfort in Shin’s expression keeps things grounded.

EPISODE CONTEXT

As the Part 2 premiere, 'Welcome' serves as a crucial bridge from Part 1's emotionally charged conclusion, reestablishing Shin, Lena, and the surviving Spearhead members under fundamentally changed circumstances. Rather than rushing into new conflicts, the episode deliberately grounds the audience in the characters' psychological states and shifting environments, laying essential emotional groundwork. Everything introduced here—the new roles, the unresolved trauma, the altered dynamics—will escalate as the season's twelve episodes unfold.
