Two souls drift apart at 5 cm/sec. Here, distance, time, and society wins over love. Although the girl moves on, the boy stays frozen in memory. A train passes between them serves as the perfect metaphor. Makoto Shinkai with his brilliance serves us Love on a plate of realism.

280 words not even enough to explain this. Personally, this is my Makoto Shinkai's favorites works. It's just, wonderful, great soundtrack also by Yamazaki Masayoshi - One More Time, One More Chance, to this day that song still haunts me everytime I heard it. Just watch it.

this anime is the kind of film that doesn't shatter your heart all at once, it slowly, gently pulls it apart. it shows how love can fade not because of drama or betrayal, but because of time and distance just quietly win. the visuals are breathtaking and the soundtracks.. oh my:(
