That was a really nice episode. The animation was incredibly fluid. Comparisons will be inevitable, but I love how the beginning set a totally different tone from standard sports series by prioritizing the emotional drama right away.

Strong start to the anime and the episode. A good amount of lore, and the pacing is a bit fast. The animation and how they explain things are good. Too much information for the first episode. The ending is unexpected.
