The plot takes a melancholic, fairy-tale approach as Haruto meets Natsuki, a terminally ill girl who has created a peaceful forest sanctuary to escape her fading reality. Character designs are soft, with Natsuki wearing a flowing white dress that makes her look like a forest spirit. Visuals are breathtaking, featuring lush greenery, dappled sunlight, and a watercolor texture that makes the entire environment feel soft and fragile. Specific Moment: The giant, glowing white whale swimming silently through the canopy of the trees, beautifully capturing the unbound logic of a child’s dream.
Episode 4 surprised me. I thought it would be full of blood and violence, but since Episode 3, the story has become much warmer and cuter. It’s still worth watching, but I feel the witch’s personal struggle is too simple. Also, after the witches wake up, their stories feel a little unfinished.
While watching this anime, it really made me reflect on why people can sometimes be so rude to others. The episode does a great job of showing how our negative actions can deeply affect those around us. It's quite sad. But, the characters in this episode, are very cute, and it was enjoyable to see Haruto should going through all of that.
