This ep isn't much, just a new character to build conflict. Too many picture-perfect scenes that feel unrealistic since they're kids, or maybe I'm just bitter, haha! Also a few cringeworthy scenes, especially during the dance test 😭 Watch just to get to know the new character.
Given the fast buildup of Hanabi and Takao from the premiere episode, this one honestly didn't offer much deep emotional pull to keep their dynamics exciting. Even if the story itself was very typical, the addition of new character is the only redeeming moments that captured my attention. I actually preferred the build up thoughts of the other perspective which essentially gives more sentimental approach.
This ep was kind of cringe and cheesy for me. There were different kinds of emotions conveyed in this episode. The pacing definitely has some issues. The first half was slow, with the new character introduction, while the second half got a bit fast, suddenly shifting and catching the feelings from cold to warm. I'm annoyed with how Hanabi minds others, though. And that dance animation of Tsutsumi was awkwardly stiff.
