The cheesiness is really there, but I was all smiles watching this ep, haha! I guess it's the beauty of innocence. This summer ep was executed well, Aoi and Hanabi were cute! The pacing was just fine. Though there's not much plot advancement, it was still an enjoyable watch!
It was actually a great episode, as it captured another touching moment between the couples, and the new setting made their interactions feel refreshing. Furthermore, the distinct contrast between the two male leads hits differently. I much prefer Hiyama’s shy personality over Takao’s mature dynamic. For me, Takao feels more like an older brother to Ayase, which is why I did not see much spark between them. Though, this might also be due to how rushed their development felt, making their romantic chemistry fall a bit flat for me.
It was a satisfying, usual pool episode with the touch of ignorance bliss. Good thing they changed Ayase's hairstyle and made her pretty likeable and adorable for a moment's time. Not expecting Eikou's group still lingers around even in that setting, too. Kind of a letdown on how Hiyama acted and to Marin not being invited to.
