I kinda liked this episode. It caught me off guard, especially with Palm, lol. She's such an interesting character. This episode mainly served as a setup for another plot point, and that cliffhanger at the end was definitely intriguing.

This episode felt like it came out of nowhere. 😆 It was surprisingly light-hearted despite some POVs continuing the main plot as usual. Anyway, I still liked it. Gon is just too pure here. He's basically a walking ball of sunshine. 🥹

This felt like a breather episode, at least for Gon and Killua. I really liked it. It felt necessary after everything that happened, and that ending built up plenty of anticipation for what's coming next. Honestly, it's getting exciting!

Episode Context

A deliberately disarming episode that weaponizes comedy against mounting dread. Gon finds himself navigating the bewildering terrain of a date with the unstable Palm, and the sheer awkwardness of the situation mines genuine humor from his complete innocence in romantic matters. Palm's eccentric intensity clashes beautifully with Gon's earnest cluelessness, creating some of the arc's most unexpectedly funny moments. But Hunter x Hunter never lets you relax for long. Killua shadows the outing with razor-sharp protective instincts, and the comedy operates under a sky that's visibly darkening. The tonal balance here is masterful: lighthearted scenes carry real weight because of what's coming. This is a breather episode in the truest sense, the kind of deep breath you take before plunging underwater. Enjoy the levity while it lasts.
