Watching Gon discover his signature technique was quite enjoyable to watch. We have seen him come a long way from the hunter exams. Killua's decision was devasting, this leaves one wondering what the future holds for these characters.

Why does this episode feel lighter somehow? Lol. It wasn’t dull, but it also wasn’t too heavy despite the tension in some scenes. This episode felt balanced in a way that really makes you want to keep watching.

I liked the progression in this episode. It focused more on setting up the plot, showing intriguing scenes that make you double back, strengthening character dynamics, and building excitement for what’s going to happen next.

Episode Context

A training-focused episode that delivers one of Gon's most iconic moments of creative problem-solving. The tone is methodical yet energizing as Gon channels his straightforward personality into developing a signature combat technique under Biscuit's watchful eye. There's a satisfying blend of instruction and experimentation here, the kind of episode that rewards viewers who enjoy watching power systems get built from the ground up rather than just deployed in flashy fights. Killua's temporary departure to tackle the Hunter Exam adds a parallel thread of individual ambition, giving both characters room to grow independently. The pacing leans into the process of mastery, making this feel earned rather than rushed. Themes of perseverance, ingenuity, and mentor-student trust anchor the episode, reinforcing why the Nen system remains one of anime's most compelling power frameworks.
