More of Gon’s recklessness, except this time it bites him. Hope he learns he need to think first before doing something. Still, it cool though. Killua and Wing were worried about Gon Kurapika shows up at the end. I can already tell where his story’s headed. No class Nen for this episode so can enjoy the episode without too much thinking!

A really good episode with a more intense fight where Gon Freecss stays smart and strategic even without using Nen. He sticks to his promise to Wing, which makes it feel more real and satisfying.

I like how their abilities develop gradually instead of instantly. It feels more realistic, especially after Gon’s fight with Gido. Winning through sheer willpower alone would’ve been absurd.

Episode Context

The Heavens Arena arc shifts into high gear as Gon steps into genuine combat for the first time since unlocking his Nen potential. This is a pure action episode, tense, kinetic, and built around the thrill of watching a protagonist test hard-earned skills against a real opponent. The pacing is tight, wasting no time on setup before throwing viewers into the intensity of arena combat. Themes of perseverance and growth under pressure dominate, with the episode exploring what it actually means to apply Nen techniques when the stakes are physical and immediate. Madhouse delivers sharp fight choreography that rewards attention to the power system's mechanics. The mood stays locked in at high tension throughout, making this a strong payoff episode for anyone who sat through the training fundamentals. Essential viewing for combat-system fans.
