Quiet beauty that lingers

The train scene is one of those moments that feels simple on the surface but emotionally overwhelming if you really sit with it. Hayao Miyazaki strips everything down—dialogue, action, even color intensity—and leaves you with pure atmosphere. As a fan, I love how it represents transition, growth, and acceptance without saying a single word. The reflections on the water, the slow rhythm of the train, and the silent passengers create a haunting calm that stays with you long after the film ends. Still, part of me has always wanted more context about those ghostly figures. They feel important, symbolic, almost like echoes of other stories, yet they remain unexplained. That mystery is beautiful, but also slightly frustrating for someone who wants to dive deeper.
