Changed my Mind so Quickly!

To be honest, I had been avoiding watching Attack on Titan for a long time because of how dark it seemed. The idea of multiple giant, unsettling creatures devouring humans didn’t exactly sound enjoyable to me. What finally drew me in was the first episode’s title, “To You, in 2000 Years.” It felt mysterious and meaningful, like there was something deeper behind all the violence. That curiosity pushed me to give it a try, and after watching the first episode, I was completely hooked!

The pacing is surprisingly well-balanced. It doesn’t feel rushed, but it also never drags. The episode takes its time to show the normal life before everything shatters after the first titan showed up. As the story progresses, the emotions become overwhelming! The feeling of despair, anger, and helplessness all hit at once. Watching both Eren and Mikasa, who are still so young, face such a brutal reality made me question how they could possibly survive without any parents? It left me wondering, can they really defeat the Titans? What will happen to their town?

The sound design plays a huge role in creating tension. The screams when the Titan appears, the crashing sounds of destruction, and the heavy footsteps all created a sense of chaos. The use of scale that showed Titans towering over tiny humans reflects how powerless people are.

The most unforgettable moment is Eren’s mother’s death. The soundtrack, composed by Hiroyuki Sawano, intensifies the emotion, making the scene feel devastating, heavy and personal. It’s heartbreaking, and it stays with you long after the episode ends.
