Clickbait. I wasn't expecting this anime to be that kind of anime. The title itself expected me to see guns, knives, and lots of running. Just like judging a book by its cover, I probably shouldn't be quick to judge by its first episode. It's also a matter of genre preferences.
What a chaotic opener. This episode weaponizes confusion as a hook. The sudden shift from shock to ridiculous comedy is effective and definitely intentional. It fully commits to its premise's absurdity and aren't ashamed by it at all. Full confidence, zero hesitation.
As the title says, there are Zombies, in Saga. This allows the anime to present us with a variety of characters from different periods and that therefore have their unique quirks. Really interesting premise with an incredible bait and switch.
