EPISODE REVIEWS

The season premiere felt just like a usual Zetsubou-Sensei episode. The first part was my favorite, and I liked how it showcased all the girls since it was the season premiere. The second part didn’t really click with me because it was tied to cultural things related to spring, and there’s no spring where I live. The third part also didn’t connect with me since I don’t really relate to the whole self-discovery journey theme. It also felt strange that the episode ended in the middle of a chapter, I don’t think has happened before. Even though some of the topics didn’t resonate with me, the episode was still entertaining to watch overall.

The animation and art style are very unique and interesting, and the soundtrack is great. The writing and storytelling can be pretty confusing, though, with the story moving at a very fast pace and constantly switching scenes. Still, it's funny.

True to the franchise’s signature style, the premiere immediately throws you into a visually striking whirlwind of dark comedy, sharp social satire, and avant-garde animation choices.
