Yuusanchi! from Yuu-hachi

There's a 40-centimeter round creature named Dekai Hachi living with humans, and nobody finds this especially strange. That's the deadpan joke at the center of Yuusanchi! from Yuu-hachi, a 2026 short-form gag anthology from Studio Fanworks that adapts three separate Yuuhachi manga into one-minute episodes. The first segment follows Dekai Hachi's daily routine as ordinary people try to feed, accommodate, or simply tolerate a mysterious blob with animal habits. Later segments switch gears: Pisu-chan is a silent fish that just hangs outside a convenience store for no explained reason, and the third follows a luckless tanuki getting rented out to whoever needs one. Each piece has its own creative lead, Gaku Kinoshita handling Dekai Hachi while Rareko directs the fish and tanuki material, and the whole thing runs on tiny visual gags rather than any ongoing story. It's the kind of show you watch in the gaps between other things, where the humor comes from how calmly everyone accepts the absurd. If you liked Pui Pui Molcar's stop-motion weirdness or Bananya's short cute-creature format, this hits similar notes. Fans of My Deer Friend Nokotan's unhinged deadpan energy will recognize the rhythm too, just chopped into much smaller pieces.
