Episode Context

Sitting at the series' midpoint, episode 68 follows directly from Yusuke's unexpected capture and redirects focus to his allies' rescue attempt, marking a decisive tonal shift from the physical battles that dominated prior arcs. This episode establishes the cerebral challenge format that will define the upcoming confrontation with Kaito and his territory-based abilities. It serves as a critical bridge, transitioning the narrative toward a new breed of antagonist and setting up a stretch of episodes where intelligence and strategy become the primary survival tools.
