Coming directly off Yuusuke's resurrection in episode 4, this episode handles the immediate fallout of his return to the living world and the emotional recalibrations with the people closest to him. It functions as the connective tissue between the introductory resurrection arc and Yuusuke's new supernatural responsibilities, setting up his transition into the Spirit Detective role. With 107 episodes still ahead, this is the launchpad, everything that follows builds on the relationships and stakes established here.
